Romans 4:19-20 NLT
19 And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah’s womb.
20 Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God.
The Word of God is a book full of God’s promises to us. Promises that were all fulfilled through the finished work of Christ. In the old testament, they had a covenant relationship with God. Covenant based on performance (If they do, God will do. If they don’t do, God will not do). In the new testament, we don’t have a covenant based relationship with God but a promise based relationship through the finished work of Jesus. It’s no longer about us doing but about what Jesus has already done through His death, burial and resurrection. Because of this, we are qualified to access God’s promises. All the promises of God in Christ are yes and Amen!
As we look at our lives we might question why we aren’t seeing these promises manifest just yet. Promises of protection, health and wholeness, provision, breakthroughs, the list is endless. But as you consider this, it should not be based on the standards of this world. You must consider this through the lens of grace. We can choose to focus on our circumstances, to dwell on the negative situation from a worldly perspective. To only see what is happening to us and around us in the natural which promotes a life of fear. We can, however, receive His super abounding grace in all situations and live a life led by the Spirit and see with unveiled eyes the finished work of Christ.
The enemy wants to deceive us to keep us focused on our natural/worldly circumstances, knowing that this keeps us trapped. Instead of the Truth, the enemy will promote word based realities in our hearts if we allow him. But the fact remains that the unseen is greater than the seen (2 Corinthians 4:180. Don’t build your life on what is happening around you, build your life on the finished work of Jesus.
The promises are already yours, believe them and keep professing the finished work of God, and don’t stop until they manifest, because they will surely manifest if you don’t stop.
I receive Grace to receive the manifestation of the promises of God available to me in Christ Jesus. Amen
